Violator All Star DJ Fusion linked up with Madison native Truth Jones—now living in Las Vegas—to talk about his journey, his music, and the breakout single that’s making waves across the country.

Life Beyond the Strip

While many think of Vegas as bright lights and endless parties, Truth Jones paints a different picture. “Living there, I hardly ever go to the strip,” he says. “It’s a suburban lifestyle—parks, basketball, roller skating—just balancing making music with being a father and partner.”

That grounded energy comes from his Madison upbringing, where the slower pace and limited nightlife helped him avoid the party scene and focus on his craft.

The Vegas Hip-Hop Scene

According to Jones, Vegas offers more accessible opportunities for local artists than Madison did when he left in 2010. From small club shows to creative pop-up events like King Gas “Gas Station Market”, the city is buzzing with talent and networking opportunities—sometimes even attracting surprise appearances from major artists like Joyner Lucas and Future.

“Vegas is an entertainment capital,” Jones says. “You never know who you might bump into.”

The Rise of “Peace”

Truth Jones’s latest single “Peace” blends Afrobeat rhythms with smooth R&B hooks. It’s already charting on Rhythmic and Urban radio, with spins in cities like Baltimore, Cleveland, Miami, Los Angeles, Madison, and Vegas.

The record is part of his 3-track EP Chapter 38: Faith, alongside “My New Favorite Song” and “Draws.” The title reflects both his age and his annual tradition of choosing a guiding word for the year—2025’s word being faith.

“My brothers told me ‘Peace’ was the one,” he says. “Hearing them get emotional about it was all the validation I needed.”

Crafting Music That Connects

For Jones, songwriting is an instinctive process. “The music tells me what it wants to say. I just hurry to write it down before I lose it.” With “Peace,” inspiration struck fast—lyrics penned in about ten minutes, anchored by a hook that came naturally despite his usual struggle with simplicity.

Live performance is another cornerstone of his artistry. Drawing from his early days as his brother’s hype man, Jones values rehearsed, lyric-forward shows over rapping along to backing tracks. “If they wanted to hear the song, they could stream it. The stage is where you bring something extra.”

Where to Listen and Follow

Chapter 38: Faith is streaming now on Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, YouTube Music, Pandora, and more. Fans can find Truth Jones on Instagram and TikTok at @truth_jones.

With “Peace” steadily climbing the charts and more performances on the horizon, Truth Jones is proving that authentic storytelling and polished artistry can resonate far beyond city limits.
