Artist Romey the self proclaimed "Midwest King" also known as Romey MVP is a Hiphop artist from Madison, WI. When it comes to hiphop, the Midwest has produced some of the game’s brightest stars Kanye West, Eminem, Nelly, Bone Thugs, Twista, Common etc. It’s only a matter of time until Romey is added to that list. Born on the Southside of Chicago, Romey’s road to stardom wasn’t easy. A product of a broken home, Romey found himself knee deep in the streets at a young age. It wasn’t until relocating to Madison, WI that he zeroed in on his craft but when Romey's mother was arrested for drug dealing he was shipped to Memphis, TN to live with his aunt. Once his father found out he immediately got custody of him & moved him to Milwaukee WI where he went to Washington High School. Eventually, Artist Romey would return to Madison & turn his passion for music into a full time hustle. Staying true to his independence, the self proclaimed King Of the Midwest formed Get Rich Records. With a string of mixtapes: The Goodfellas, The Chicago Takeover I am King etc. the releases sold over 100,000 units. Soon after, he caught the attention of The Source magazine & appeared in their iconic Unsigned Hype column. Write-ups in XXL, RIME, Wisconsin State Journal soon followed. Entering the digital age, leading websites like MTV, allhiphop & hiphopdx have all featured his content.
